Surf Shack Waipu was established in February 2022 by Ellen and Grae, born from a shared vision to bring back the soul of the old-school surf shop — the kind they both grew up with during their grommie days in Australia.

What began as a small pop-up extension of their growing surf school, Learn 2 Surf Waipu Cove, quickly evolved into a thriving and much-loved fixture in the heart of Waipu. Rooted in community, surf culture, and a deep love for the ocean, Surf Shack Waipu blends authenticity, creativity, and coastal heritage into every part of the experience.
